It is scary how easily Satan can take something that GOD meant for good and turn it into something evil. The move to Egypt was to offer a safe place where a large family could multiply into a nation where they would be segregated from the wrong influences and develop into a united nation. But Satan used this to enslave, demean and try to destroy the Hebrews. Yet GOD actually even used this for something good. How has GOD made something bad in your life into something good?

Reminder that as our protocol states if EVSC cancels school then our church ministries are cancelled as well so we will not be having Wednesday night services.

A part of GOD being Sovereign is that even what people mean for evil, harm, selfishness or foolishness GOD still use it to do something good and gracious. So today's assignment was to define "sovereignty", so what is your definition?

It is easy to look at what Joseph is doing and just think he is just getting even but there is more to it than that because if he was wanting to get even he had all the resources of a nation to make them miserable beyond belief. I really believe that just as GOD had done a work in Joseph testing his faith through all the years so that he would be ready to be used by GOD, so now GOD was guiding Joseph to test his brothers' f'aith to see if they were ready to build a nation of faith from their family.

Could people say this about you? If so, what would they see in you that would show "The Spirit of GOD"? If not, what could you change that would give room and opportunity for "The Spirit of GOD" to be seen?

So after this week of reading through Genesis 18-40, how would you define faith? Look forward to seeing different facets of this SPIRITual gem GOD has given us so define away!!!

Joseph amazes me. What happened to change him from the obnoxious, spoiled little brother to solid rock of faith in the midst of wave after wave of storms? What do you think happened?

Today as a part of reading we get to see Jacob wrestle and lose yet win [Genesis 32:22-32]. Are there other wrestling with GOD stories I wonder out there? Anyone willing to share?

"All blessings carry responsibility, so don't pray for the first if you're not ready for the second." WTTB, p. 41 There have been so many athletes--and even more wannabe ones--that want all the achievement, fame & glory without the work. But life doesn't work that way and especially the SPIRITual life. If you want to excel, if you want to achieve for GOD, if you want to enjoy GOD'S blessings you have got to put in the work/responsibility. Where are you having to focus right now to work/be more responsible in your SPIRITual walk with GOD?

Check out Jacob's vow to GOD in Genesis 28:20-22. This isn't a vow, it is a deal. How have you been trying to make deals with GOD? Share them here and let's all pray together to give up the deals and simply follow GOD.

Genesis 26:7-8 we see Isaac learned the same trick from his Dad, Abraham. What bad tricks--I am being nice and not calling it sin--have you continued from your family that need to or have been broken?

Here is the video of some of the things Larry and Jared encountered on their last trip. Pray about joining them next October for their next one. We think of this as just a memory, but it is still their reality and if we work together, we can make it just a memory for them too. The dates of the next trip have not been firmed up yet, but it will be mid to late October, more details to come. What a wonderful week of fellowship and connecting it will be!!
